The Psilocybe cubensis species is a coprophilic fungus that usually develops in grazing cattle – cattle, goat droppings. It is found in wet grasslands, deciduous forests, gardens, streams, orchards, or dumps in tropical and subtropical ecosystems. It grows and develops effectively in humid environments with hot climates above 85% humidity in damp soils. In many cases, it is seen to germinate directly from the excrement in the pasture.
